Trash Pandas Triumph Over The Last Resorts in Thrilling Ball Hockey Game

On a cool October evening, the 3rd to be exact, spectators at the BHi Brantford 2 venue were treated to an exhibition of high-energy, youth ball hockey at its finest. The Last Resorts took on the Trash Pandas in a match that kept everyone at the edge of their seats till the final whistle.

The Trash Pandas came out with their tails blazing, thanks to top scorer Raine Hernden who found the net twice in the first period. Hernden’s first goal was assisted by Justen Pettipas and Payten Willmets, 7 minutes and 12 seconds into the first period. Not even a full minute later, Hernden came back with another smashing goal, this time with an assist from Brittany Fazekas.

Maintaining the Trash Panda’s momentum, John Pongracz further widened the gap with a goal assisted by Amanda Barnett and Will VanNieuwenhuizen. The Last Resorts, not to be outdone, fought back with Preston VanEvery scoring a goal with an assist from Con Montour. The first period ended with the Trash Pandas leading the scoreboard.

The Last Resorts, however, had their ace in the hole. Preston VanEvery, who had scored in the first period, came through once again in the 3rd period, 6 minutes 57 seconds in. Despite their best efforts and VanEvery’s impressive performance, the Last Resorts weren’t able to close the gap.

The third period saw more action with a series of penalties for the Last Resorts. Alanna Powless, Joran Goddard, and Con Montour were handed penalty times of 2, 2, and 15 minutes respectively.
