On the evening of October 6, 2025, the energy was electric at the BHi Brantford 1 arena as The Brand faced off against The Gamblers in a highly anticipated ball hockey matchup.
From the first period, the game was a rollercoaster of excitement. Cody Hannah of The Brand made the opening move with an even strength goal just a minute and a half into the game, assisted by Tyson Jamieson. However, The Gamblers weren’t to be outdone, responding with their own goal from Kalem Powless in the second period.
The Brand quickly regained their momentum, with Ty Birdsell and Erik DeVuyst scoring back-to-back goals, assisted by Qwin Laforme, Colin Gale, Joshua Boone, and Dalton Vander Heide. As the second period wrapped up, the crowd was on the edge of their seats.
The third period was just as thrilling with The Brand’s Raine Hernden and Joshua Boone each scoring a goal, with assists from Tyson Jamieson, Colin Gale, and Ty Birdsell. The Gamblers made a valiant final effort with a goal from Marshall Powless, assisted by Randon Green and Kalem Powless.
In the end, The Brand emerged as the victors from this pulsating match. Though The Gamblers put up a fierce fight, they couldn’t overcome a couple of key penalties by June Buffalo and Randon Green. The final shot count stood at 18 for The Brand and 13 for The Gamblers.
