Leyton Johnston’s outstanding performance drove Nips n’ Tips to outshine the Trash Pandas in a thrilling encounter.
The game’s breakthrough came at the 8th minute of the first period. Leyton Johnston of Nips n’ Tips fired a sharp goal, assisted by Connor Maclean. The duo teamed up once more, but this time Connor was the one who found the back of the net. The first period ended with another goal for Nips n’ Tips when Andrew Maclean, assisted by Leyton, put his name on the score sheet.
The Trash Pandas were not going down without a fight, though. In the second period, Jenn Boutilier responded for the Pandas, scoring with an assist from Amanda Barnett. However, the Nips n’ Tips retaliated with a goal from Brittany Fazekas, assisted by Leyton Johnston and Andrew Maclean.
The final period saw back and forth action, with both teams fighting tooth and nail. Jaylee Martin-Henhawk extended the lead for Nips n’ Tips, but the Trash Pandas responded with goals from Kyle Boutilier and Amanda Barnett. Despite the Trash Pandas’ tenacious effort, Nips n’ Tips managed to maintain their lead until the final buzzer.
The final score was Nips n’ Tips 5, Trash Pandas 3. Leyton Johnston, with his incredible performance and multiple assists, played a key role in securing Nips n’ Tips’ championship victory. Hats off to both teams for a riveting match!
