On a crisp November afternoon, on the 5th of the month in 2025 to be exact, the Brantford 2 Venue became a hotbed of action as the Panthers and Huskies clashed in a thrilling ball hockey match.
The Panthers skilfully clawed their way to a well-earned victory against the spirited Huskies in this round robin match-up. The game was even more special because it was the 2nd vs 8th match – marking a momentous point in the season, and both teams were rewarded with a fun pizza party afterwards!
Logan Barkman, who scored a remarkable hat trick, and Ethan Mackenzie were among the top performers for the Panthers, while River Sims gave his all for the Huskies, netting twice. The game saw a flurry of goals – a total of 10 fantastic finishes hitting the back of the net!
The Panthers, firing 15 shots on goal, opened their scoring account early in the first period, with Barkman leading the charge. The Huskies, however, didn’t back down, firing back with 20 shots and two goals in the second period, one each by Carter Gilchrist and Sims.
Into the second period, both teams continued to bring the heat! The Panthers clawed back, extending their lead as Barkman, Carter Lesemann and Evan Newell each found the net. The Huskies howled back with goals by Sims and Gilchrist, but it wasn’t enough to catch up with the prowling Panthers.
The final period saw Barkman and Newell of the Panthers scoring one goal each, while Sims of the Huskies managed to net in another one before the buzzer sounded.
Overall, it was an energizing game with plenty of skill on display, making it an unforgettable match for the fans and players alike. We look forward to seeing what these two talented teams bring to the rink next time!
