In a thrilling display of skill and strategy on October 16, 2025, the 12 to 14 Dragons took on the Knights at the BHi Brantford 2 venue. The Dragons emerged victorious in an intense game that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
The Knights struck first with Dominic Crone getting past the Dragons’ defense at the 7-minute mark of the first period. The Dragons, however, roared back in the second period with Masen Buscombe scoring twice, both times with assists from Elijah Khimji. The Knights were not to be outdone, with Ayaan Syed scoring a goal in the second period, his shot being set up beautifully by Charlie Bowler.
The third period saw the teams return to the rink with renewed energy and determination. The Dragons increased their lead with Elijah Khimji and Masen Buscombe finding the back of the net once more, assisted by Jackson Tremblay and Noah Khimji. But the Knights were not ready to give up. Dominic Crone scored his second goal, set up by Ayaan Syed, followed by a goal from Hridhaan Balothia, assisted by Dominic Crone and Liam Miller, bringing the Knights back into the game.
In the final minutes, Noah Khimji of the Dragons scored a crucial goal, effectively sealing the game for the Dragons. Despite the Knights’ best efforts, they could not bridge the gap before the final whistle.
The game wasn’t without its fair share of penalties, with Ayaan Syed and Mark Wilcox of the Knights spending time in the sin bin for tripping and body checking respectively.
It was a high-spirited contest, showcasing not only the skill but also the true sportsmanship of these young athletes. The Dragons and Knights both showed why ball hockey is so exciting to watch. We look forward to more action from these teams!
