On the evening of October 14, 2025, the ball hockey world turned its eyes to BHi Brantford 2, the arena hosting a thrilling match between the Dragons and the Eagles. The Dragons were the home team for this exciting encounter, which culminated in a victory for them that was full of drama and excitement.
The game remained goalless for much of the duration. The teams fought valiantly, vying for dominance, but neither the Dragons nor the Eagles could find the back of the net despite several shots – 9 for the Dragons and 7 for the Eagles.
However, as the old saying goes, ‘Cometh the hour, cometh the man’, and that man was Hunter Laurie. Making his mark in the third period, Laurie awakened the Dragons from their slumber to net an ‘Even Strength’ goal five minutes and one second into the period. But that was just the beginning!
Four minutes and 16 seconds later, Laurie struck gold again, hammering in his second ‘Even Strength’ goal of the night. This time, he was ably assisted by Weston Gifford-Deane and Brendan Patla, who were instrumental in setting up the goal that would finalize the victory for the Dragons.
However, the game wasn’t without its fair share of tension. Brendan Patla, one of the stars of the night with his assist, found himself on the wrong side of the referee’s whistle, earning a 2-minute penalty for tripping with just three minutes and thirteen seconds remaining on the clock. Despite this setback, the Dragons held on to their lead, showing grit and determination.
Thus, the Dragons soared to victory, cheered on by the home crowd. The Eagles put up a valiant fight, but the night belonged to the Dragons and Hunter Laurie, who will long be remembered for his crucial contributions!
