The evening of October 1, 2025, was electric at the BHi Brantford 2 stadium as the Crank Lightning clashed with the NFG(Cr) in an exciting ball hockey game.
The Crank Lightning took the game by storm, dominating from the start and proving too powerful for their visitors. The Lightning’s precision and teamwork were on full-blown display as they outshot the NFG(Cr) by a staggering 32 to 11 shots.
The Lightning’s scoring spree began early in the first period, with Jimmy Sheaves finding the back of the net just six minutes into the game, assisted by Josh Metham and Justin Metham. Not long after, Alex Richardson, Trevor Ward, Josh Peixoto, and again Richardson, all added to the Lightning’s score, giving them a commanding lead.
In the second period, NFG(Cr)’s Kathos Whitlow broke through the Lightning’s defense to put his team on the scoreboard. However, the Lightning retaliated with four more goals, coming from Tim Porter, Josh Metham, Jordan Wonch and finally another one from Wonch, just before the period ended.
The third period saw Whitlow scoring his second goal for NFG(Cr). But the Lightning was not done, and Jordan Wonch and Josh Peixoto each found the net again, sealing the game for Crank Lightning with an impressive victory.
The Crank Lightning showcased an incredible offensive performance, with standout performances from Josh Peixoto and Alex Richardson, who both scored two goals each. The Metham brothers were also a force to be reckoned with, contributing significantly to the team’s victory.
Despite the loss, NFG(Cr) showed moments of resilience, with Kathos Whitlow scoring both of his team’s goals. The team will certainly look forward to improving their performance in the next match.
