Saturday night, April 24th, brought sheer excitement on the ball hockey floor as the Trash Pandas triumphantly toppled the Booze Cruisers at BHi Brantford 1.
The game started off on a high energy note, with Avery Heslip of the Booze Cruisers scoring the first goal. But the Trash Pandas quickly retaliated, with Preston VanEvery scoring two back-to-back goals, assisted both times by the dynamic duo Jenn Boutilier and Kyle Boutilier. Before the first period ended, the Pandas added two more goals to their tally, credited to Will VanNieuwenhuizen and Jenn Coombs.
The second period showcased a strong defensive play from both sides, hence no goals were scored. However, the action wasn’t lacking! Chase Bacher from the Booze Cruisers was handed a 2-minute penalty for team misconduct.
The third period saw a comeback from the Booze Cruisers, with Avery Heslip and Kyle Strobosser adding a goal each to their side’s tally. Despite their best efforts, the Trash Pandas maintained their lead. The Pandas’ Jenn Boutilier was also handed a 2-minute penalty for body contact, adding a bit of drama to the final stage of the game.
In the end, the Trash Pandas emerged victorious, commending their excellent teamwork and strong offence. The Booze Cruisers put up a great fight, and we can expect some more thrilling matches in the future from both teams.
