The energy was electric on the night of August 5th, 2025, at BHi Brantford 2, as the Trash Pandas triumphed over The Brand in a riveting game of youth ball hockey.
The game started with an exciting first period where Rylen Moore of The Brand managed to sneak one in at just over the 9-minute mark, setting the tone for the rest of the match. However, the Trash Pandas were not deterred. The second period saw a rapid response from the Pandas with Tom Johnson and James Colwell teaming up for an equalizer early in the period. Not long after, Colwell, assisted by Johnson, netted another one, turning the tide in favor of the Pandas.
The Brand tried to fight back in the third period with Rylen Moore once again showing his skills and scoring his second goal of the evening, assisted by Jacob Gaudet and Dalton Vanderheide. But with less than five minutes left on the clock, Jake Dawson of the Trash Pandas, assisted by Isaac Colwell and Connor Mackinnon, chipped in the game winner, sealing the victory for the Trash Pandas.
A single penalty was handed out during the game, a 2-minute minor for Josh Purdy of the Trash Pandas in the second period. Despite this, the Trash Pandas outshot The Brand by 23 to 30, a testament to their defensive strength.
This thrilling game was closely officiated by the experienced duo of David Locke and Shane Heffernan, with Olivia Gairns expertly keeping time. All in all, it was an evening of intense competition and spectacular hockey that fans and players will not soon forget. Well played, teams!
