A fantastic evening of ball hockey unfolded on August 6, 2025, as the Badgers faced off against the Shamrocks at BHi Brantford 2. The game had its fair share of thrills and spills, and eventually had to be decided in dramatic overtime.
The game took off with a swift start from the Badgers as Liam Gauthier netted one in the first period, assisted by Brycen Buscombe and Matt Gauthier. However, the Shamrocks’ Don Pauze equalized in the second period, shooting one past the goalie with an assist from Kyle Vachon.
The Badgers retaliated quickly with Tristan Webb scoring another goal for them, assisted by PJ Fulsom. The Shamrocks, not wanting to be left behind, put another one on the scoreboard thanks to Brandon McCready’s skills, assisted by Chris Scott and Seth Verrips. Tensions were high as both teams were tied by the end of the third period.
The game featured a fair share of penalties. Austin Scott from the Shamrocks was penalized for boarding in the first period. The Badgers’ Liam Gauthier saw a penalty for interference in the second period, and the Shamrocks’ Brandon McCready for tripping in the third.
In the end, it was the Badgers who had the last laugh. In a thrilling overtime showdown, Mike Montour emerged as the hero for the Badgers, scoring the game-winning goal.
