On a cool autumn day on the 1st of November, 2025, the Grizzlies and Bisons competed in an unforgettable ball hockey showdown at BHi Brantford 1. This game, a Round Robin featuring the 4th and 6th placed teams, kept everyone on their toes as it ended in a thrilling shootout victory for the Bisons.
The game kicked off with Jack Lawson from the Bisons scoring the first goal in the 6th minute, assisted by Emmett Parry. However, the Grizzlies’ Jace Lesky and Rhys MacDonald quickly retaliated with two back-to-back goals against the Bisons. By the end of the first period, the score was even, with both teams managing to score twice.
The second period saw an amazing performance by Grizzlies’ Rhys MacDonald, scoring two goals assisted by Declan Paul and William Evans. However, the Bisons werenβt far behind, with Jack Lawson managing to squeeze in another goal for his team.
The third period was a nail-biter, with both teams scoring twice. Grizzlies’ Xaiver Hycza and Bisons’ Emmett Parry and Kaine Milligan all found the back of the net. However, the Bisons’ Kaine Milligan showed why he deserves to play in the big leagues by scoring the final nail-biting, game-winning goal in a dramatic shootout, giving the Bisons a hard-fought victory!
The Grizzlies’ efforts didn’t go unnoticed, despite their loss. They took 22 shots on goal compared to the Bisons’ 28. Their players performed remarkably well, especially Rhys MacDonald who scored multiple goals.
This game was a true testament to the spirit and excitement of youth ball hockey. The Grizzlies and Bisons both displayed exceptional skills and passion on the field. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store!
