The game commenced with a bang, as Emmett Parry of the Bisons netted the opener just 5 minutes into the first period. However, the Mustangs were quick to retaliate with a goal from Tyson Gee, assisted by Kieran Zacher. The first period ended with the teams tied at 1-1.

The second period was where the Mustangs truly shone. Tyson Gee, the star player of the evening, scored his second goal, aided by Jackson Renneberg. The Bisons managed to fight back with a goal from Kaine Milligan, but the Mustangs maintained their momentum, as Mason Cutmore and Kieran Zacher each added to the tally.
