In a thrilling ball hockey showdown at the BHi Brantford 1 on September 19, 2025, the Brantford Royals – Pyear sealed an emphatic victory over the valiant Cherry Blasters.
The Royals took charge of the game right from the first period, with Connor Pyear netting the first goal, just over three minutes in. He was closely followed by teammate Phinn Sinden, who with a little help from Heather Barkman, scored a goal of his own.
But the Royals didn’t stop there. Dylan Brandt, with an assist from Connor Pyear, and Tristan Barkman, fed by Adam Barkman, also contributed to the scoreboard. By the end of the first period, the Royals were dominating the rink.
The third period saw another exciting goal by Dylan Brandt, this time assisted by Kaitlyn Barkman, further cementing the Royals’ lead.
The Cherry Blasters showed spirit and determination, but despite a couple of penalties against the Royals – one against Aaron Balsor and another against Pat Azzopardi of the Blasters – they were unable to break the Royals’ strong defence.
The final shot count was close, with the Cherry Blasters making 17 attempts to the Royals’ 14. However, it was the Royals who emerged as the clear winners, showcasing a magnificent team performance that will be remembered for seasons to come! Keep on keeping on, Royals!
