The excitement was palpable at BHi Brantford 2 on the 26th of October 2025, as the Assassins clashed with the Phatletes in a riveting display of ball hockey.
The game kicked off with an early goal from the Assassins’ Chuckie Johnson, assisted by Lelan Morgenschweis and Ryan Brown, just 3 minutes and 42 seconds into the first period. However, the lead was short-lived as Sunny Buttar of the Phatletes equalized with the help of Jake Hiscock less than 3 minutes later.
The second period saw the Assassins regain their lead with an unassisted goal by Terry Morgenschweis, 9 minutes and 18 seconds in. But the Phatletes were not to be denied. David Locke, with an assist from Matt Mascarin, evened the score again just a minute later.
The decisive moment came when David Locke struck once more, scoring a brilliant solo goal with 7 minutes and 59 seconds on the clock. Despite the Assassins’ best efforts and their 15 well-placed shots, it was the Phatletes who emerged victorious on the day.
The Phatletes’ victory can also be attributed to their solid defense, limiting the Assassins to only two goals despite 15 shots on their goal, while they themselves managed to score three goals from their 20 shots on target.
It was truly a thrilling game, well-refereed by Jeff Bradbury and Jaymz Easton, and timekept meticulously by Alyssa Miles. Fans went home buzzing with the energy of the day, already looking forward to the next face-off.
