Overtime Thriller: Rapid Decline Outlasts Pigeons in Fierce Ball Hockey Showdown

The Pigeons and Rapid Decline brought the house down at BHi Brantford 1 on November 1, 2025, in an overtime game that had everyone on the edge of their seats! With a blizzard of goals and relentless attack, Rapid Decline emerged as the triumphant team in the end.

The first period was a rollercoaster, as the Rapid Decline’s Tyler Zatylny opened the scoring nine minutes in. Beth Collins soon doubled their lead, assisted by Zatylny and Danny Boset. The Pigeons quickly responded with a goal from Jenn Boutilier, assisted by Raine Hernden. But as the period wound down, Zatylny struck again, this time assisted by Quinn Gatez, to give Rapid Decline a 3-1 lead.

The second period was a back-and-forth affair with five goals scored by each team. The Pigeons showed heart, with goals from Will VanNieuwenhuizen, Kyle Boutilier, and two from Raine Hernden. But the Rapid Decline’s Zatylny was relentless, netting two more goals with help from Gatez and Sierra Wales. Adding to their tally, Beth Collins and Quinn Gatez each scored, ending the period with Rapid Decline still leading by two.

Things really heated up in the third period. Despite goals from the Pigeons’ Jenn Boutilier and Mary Parry, Rapid Decline maintained their lead with a goal from Quinn Gatez, assisted by the unstoppable Zatylny and Jamie-Lee Sioen.
