Mighty Turtles Triumph in Thrilling Ball Hockey Showdown!

On the brisk fall evening of October 29, 2025, the Mighty Turtles and the Brantford Ball Crushers skated their hearts out in an exhilarating ball hockey match at BHi Brantford 1. The game marked the first in an elimination series between eighth and ninth place, and both teams were determined to start off on the right foot.

The Mighty Turtles kicked off the game in style, with Avery Sault firing the puck into the net just 8 minutes and 34 seconds into the first period. Not far behind, Sault, with help from Ashton VanEvery, scored another goal, and Brody Marr scored twice, bringing the Mighty Turtles to a solid 4-0 lead. However, the Crushers weren’t ready to give up just yet. Dillon Breen, Sam Overgauuw, Jay Dekker, and Breen again all scored, cutting the Turtles’ lead to just one goal by the end of the first period.

In the second period, the Crushers continued their comeback with Joe Hughes and Vern Hill each scoring to give their team the lead. But Ashton VanEvery of the Mighty Turtles wasn’t having any of it, and with assistance from Cruze General, he managed to pull his team back into contention.

In a nail-biting third period, VanEvery managed another goal, this time with some help from Marr and Sault. Then in the fifth period, Sault, with help from General and Marr, rocketed the puck past the Crushers’ goalie to clinch a thrilling victory for the Mighty Turtles.

The final scoreline stood at 7-6 in favor of the Mighty Turtles, marking an unforgettable start to the elimination series. MVP honors went to Avery Sault for his impressive hat-trick and assist, closely followed by Brody Marr and Ashton VanEvery for their crucial goals.
