Saturday, August 16, 2025, was a day of high-octane sports action as the mighty Lions faced off against the ferocious Jaguars in a unique Round Robin play at BHi Brantford 1. This was not just a game; it was a spectacle that showcased the best of youth ball hockey.
The game kicked off with the Lions showing their attacking prowess early in the day. Seth Norden struck first at just 31 seconds on the clock, scoring an unassisted, even-strength goal that got the crowd cheering. Soon after, Ella Jackson, a rising star of the Lions, scored another even-strength goal, placing the Lions in a comfortable lead.
But the Jaguars were not ready to back down. In the second period, Greyson Miller, assisted by Ethan Hunter, lashed a fantastic response, electrifying the Jaguars’ side of the stand.
However, the Lions had other plans. Ryker Hebb, assisted by Ella Jackson and Dominic Raposeiro, delivered a powerful shot that found the back of the net, expanding the Lions’ lead.
The game was not without its fair share of penalties. Carter Williams from the Lions and Pia Pinto from the Jaguars were both penalized for tripping, serving two minutes each on the bench.
Despite taking fewer shots at the goal than the Lions, the Jaguars put up a tough fight. But in the end, it was the Lions who emerged victorious, confirming their status as one of the top youth ball hockey teams.
This exciting game was overseen by referees Brendan Mannen and Amanda Smith, with Colton Farrugia keeping track as the timekeeper. As we look forward to even more thrilling games in this season, the Lions versus Jaguars encounter will surely be remembered as a classic.
