Saturday morning ball hockey has never been more exciting! On September 27th, 2025, spectators at the BHi Brantford 2 were treated to an exhilarating game between the Bisons and the Grizzlies.
The Bisons started strong, with Kaine Milligan scoring the first goal of the game, thanks to a delightful assist from Logan Perry. But the Grizzlies quickly responded as Rhys MacDonald ripped one home to level the score. Not to be outdone, Emmett Parry, assisted by Jack Lawson, put the Bisons back in the lead. However, the Grizzlies showed their grit, with Declan Paul netting an equalizer off a brilliant play set up by Jack McLennan and Xaiver Hycza.
The third period was all Grizzlies! Rhys MacDonald drove another one home, with assists from Declan Paul and Emmett White, giving the Grizzlies the lead for the first time. Then, Xaiver Hycza sealed the deal with a goal that sent the Grizzlies fans into wild cheers, once again assisted by the formidable duo, Emmett White and Rhys MacDonald.
The referees, Jacob Alway and Jaymz Easton, along with timekeeper Leyton Johnston, ensured a fair and enjoyable game for all. Despite some minor hiccups – Claire Hall of the Bisons and Emmett White of the Grizzlies each served 2-minute penalties, the game was a display of skill, sportsmanship, and the sheer joy of youth ball hockey.
The final whistle saw the Grizzlies victorious, demonstrating their undying spirit and perseverance. Kudos to both teams for a game well played!
