On August 18, 2025, the Baracudas and the Scorpions engaged in a thrilling ball hockey showdown at the BHi Brantford 1. Spectators witnessed a fusion of skill, teamwork, and unyielding determination that won’t soon be forgotten.
The game began with an explosive start as Aiden Sioen of the Scorpions rocketed a clear shot into the net just over eight minutes into the first period. However, the Baracudas were quick to respond, with Carter MacDonald tying the game with a smooth assist from Hridhaan Balothia.
The Scorpions then reclaimed the lead when Aiden Sioen returned to the spotlight, scoring his second goal of the game with crucial assists from Kate Walgraeve and Matthew Wilkinson. Despite their best efforts, the lead was short-lived as the Baracudas retaliated.
As the second period got underway, Hridhaan Balothia evened the score, with Carter MacDonald returning the assist favor. The turning point came when MacDonald added another goal to his tally, giving the Baracudas the lead for the first time in the game, with Balothia again assisting.
In the third period, it was clear the Baracudas were in their element. Carter MacDonald, in a stunning display of skill, scored his third goal of the game, effectively sealing the victory for his team. Kamden VanEvery was credited with the assist.
Both teams demonstrated exemplary skill and heart, making it an exciting game from start to finish, but the day belonged to the Baracudas. Special shout-out to Carter MacDonald of the Baracudas, who was instrumental in their victory, scoring three of the four goals. Aiden Sioen of the Scorpions also deserves commendation for his spectacular performance.
