It was an unforgettable evening on February 1, 2026, at the Woodman Park Community Centre, as the Dolphins challenged the Crusaders in what turned out to be one of the most exciting youth ball hockey games of the season. The spectators were kept on the edge of their seats as the game swung from one side to the other, finally resulting in a thrilling shootout victory for the Crusaders.
The game started off with a bang as ‘Olivia Hebert’ of the Dolphins hit the net at the 10th minute, but the Crusaders answered back with three straight goals from ‘William Doxtator’, ‘Ayaan Syed’, and ‘Hridhaan Balothia’. The Dolphins weren’t ready to back down, and by the end of the first period, the score was tied at 5-5, with the final goal of the period thundered in by ‘Ayaan Syed’.
The second period saw an equally fierce competition. ‘Hridhaan Balothia’ opened the score for the Crusaders, but the Dolphins were quick to respond with ‘Carter MacDonald’ leading the charge. The period ended with both teams adding four more to their tally, tying the game at 9-9, thanks to a last-second goal by ‘Nolan Bevan’.
The game headed into a tense shootout, where ‘William Doxtator’ of the Crusaders played the hero, nailing the winning shot that crowned the Crusaders as the champions of the night.
Even though the game had three penalties, all against the Crusaders, this did not deter them from their path to victory. ‘William Doxtator’, ‘Ayaan Syed’, and ‘Hridhaan Balothia’ were the standout players for the Crusaders, while ‘Olivia Hebert’, ‘Harrison Thorne’, and ‘Carter MacDonald’ gave noteworthy performances for the Dolphins.
