On February 1, 2026, spectators at Woodman Park Community Centre witnessed an exhilarating ball hockey faceoff between teams Lions and Galaxy. The Galaxy team clinched victory, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats with their offensive prowess.
The game kicked off with a goal from Xaiver Hycza, a shining star of the Galaxy team. Xaiver proved his mettle again by slamming another goal into the net in the first period. In between his goals, teammate Carter Hamilton also chipped in a goal for Galaxy. Pia Pinto of the Lions made a heroic effort with a goal in the first period, but it wasn’t enough to slow down the Galaxy’s charge. By the end of Period 1, the Galaxy had established a commendable lead.
The Galaxy continued their goal-scoring spree in the second period. Carter Hamilton and Xaiver Hycza both made remarkable consecutive goals. The Lions saw a glimmer of hope when Hunter Laurie scored, but Carter Hamilton and Alison Doxtator of the Galaxy ensured their team’s victory by adding two more goals to their tally.
What was truly impressive is the Galaxy’s impressive 29 shots on goal compared to the Lion’s 19, showcasing their offensive strength. The game ended without any penalties, showing great sportsmanship from both sides.
The standout players were Xaiver Hycza and Carter Hamilton from the Galaxy and Pia Pinto from the Lions, who contributed significantly to their teams.
