On the evening of January 4th, 2026, the Polar Bears battled the Jaguars in an electrifying game of youth ball hockey at the Woodman Park Community Centre. In a game that kept spectators on the edge of their seats, the Polar Bears emerged victorious, securing their standing as a team to watch this season.
The game kicked off in a high gear with Wesley Potruff of the Polar Bears scoring the first goal of the game within the first 14 minutes of the first period. Gavin Coppaway and Andre Greene scored shortly after, bringing the Polar Bears to a promising lead. However, the Jaguars werenβt ready to go down without a fight. Johnathan Jantzi retaliated for the Jaguars with two swift goals, followed by another from Kherington Gifford, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the Polar Bears. By the end of the first period, the Polar Bears had an additional two goals by Grayson Young and Wesley Potruff again.
The second period was no less exciting. The Jaguars put up a valiant effort with goals from Kherington Gifford and Kaylan Gifford-Emmett. However, the Polar Bears continued their scoring streak with Andre Greene and Grayson Young once more finding the back of the net, as well as goals from Travis Veit and River Galway.
In the end, despite the Jaguars’ fervent efforts, the Polar Bears held their ground, keeping a steady lead throughout both periods. The final score of the game was 9-5 in favour of the Polar Bears. With impressive teamwork and determination, the Polar Bears demonstrated great promise for the remainder of the season.
