Brantford Royals Rule the Rink!

The air was electric on the afternoon of October 26, 2025, as the Brantford Royals – Ladies took on the Dominating Divas in a gripping game of ball hockey at BHi Brantford 2. The much-anticipated match was no less than a showcase of talent, strategy, and teamwork!

The Royals set the tone early in the game with Heather Barkman netting an even strength goal in the fifth minute of the first period. The goal paved the way for the Royals to control the game from that point forward. The Divas, on the other hand, battled valiantly but couldn’t find the back of the net, despite taking seven shots at goal.

The game’s defining moment came in the third period when Barkman came through once again for the Royals. She scored another even strength goal at the seven-minute mark, effectively sealing the game for the home team.

The spectators, who were at the edge of their seats throughout the game, erupted in cheers as the final whistle blew. Barkman’s stellar performance was the highlight of the game, and she was undoubtedly the star player of the match.

Kudos to the referees, Owen Doucette and Thorin Balaga, as well as TimeKeeper Brooke Grandpre, for ensuring a smooth and fair game. The Royals took 12 shots at the goal while the Divas managed 7, but it was the precision and timing of Barkman that made the difference.

As the crowd dispersed, the joy on the faces of the Royals and their fans was a sight to behold. This match was another testament to the captivating and unpredictable nature of ball hockey. We can’t wait for the next game!
