In a rather unexpected turn of events on the evening of October 24, 2025, the Mighty T’weas triumphed over Willow Lake by default at the BHi Brantford 2 venue. With the opposing team unable to make it to the game, Willow Lake had to forfeit, leaving the Mighty T’weas to claim an uncontested victory.
Right from the start, it was clear that Willow Lake was not going to be able to field a team. This resulted in the Mighty T’weas’ default player being awarded five goals, each recorded at the one-second mark of the third period. These goals, while unconventional, are still a testament to the spirit of the Mighty T’weas, who showed up ready and eager to play.
Despite the lack of traditional game play, referee Dave Dean and Nico Carmichael, along with timekeeper Connor Maclean, were all present to make sure the proceedings were conducted fairly and professionally.
This unexpected win for the Mighty T’weas certainly adds an interesting twist to the season. As a team, they have proven they are ready to take on whatever comes their way, even if it means a victory by default. We look forward to seeing how they will leverage this win in their upcoming games.
