On a sunny afternoon of October 19, 2025, the ball hockey world witnessed an exciting match between the Phatletes and The Rocks at the BHi Brantford 2. The game showcased some excellent offensive and defensive skills, keeping the cheering crowds on the edge of their seats throughout.
The Phatletes began the game with a bang, with Josh Cummings scoring an even-strength goal in the first period, assisted by Christian Stevenson. This early goal energized their spirits, but also stoked the competitive fire in The Rocks.
The second period saw The Rocks bounce back with an unassisted goal by Seth Verrips. This equalizer created an intense atmosphere, with both teams battling hard for the crucial next goal. The tension was palpable as tempers flared, resulting in penalties for both teams, Dakota St.Pierre from the Phatletes and Chris Scott from The Rocks.
As the third period commenced, it was anybody’s game, but The Rocks managed to seize the opportunity with Evgeny Myshkin stepping up to the plate. Assisted by Chris Scott, Myshkin’s goal put The Rocks ahead in the game.
Despite a penalty against Justen Pettipas of the Phatletes in the last minutes, they fought hard, peppering The Rocks’ goal with 20 shots throughout the game. However, with a spectacular 16-save performance by The Rocks’ goalie, the Phatletes couldn’t manage to score again.
With the final whistle, The Rocks emerged as winners in this thrilling ball hockey clash. Both teams can be immensely proud of their performance and sportsmanship. We can’t wait for their next encounter!
