Under the bright lights of the BHi Brantford 2 on the evening of August 22, 2025, the Lights Out made a stunning comeback against the Cobras in a heart-pounding game of ball hockey! The Cobras began the game with a strong start, with Lucas Johnston and Mark Smith scoring three goals in the first period. Alyssa Smith also pitched in with an assist, making the first period a challenging one for the Lights Out.
However, the Lights Out lived up to their name in the second period. Tom Johnson, Judy Hycza, and Hunter Cain each scored a goal, drawing the game to a thrilling tie. The Cobras, despite their best efforts, could not penetrate the ironclad defense put up by the Lights Out. The teamwork between Johnson, Hycza, and Cain was evident on the court, their synergy lighting up the game.
The final period was a nail-biter. With only 36 seconds into the third period, Sissy Penzvalto of Lights Out scored the decisive goal, tipped the scales in favor of her team. Assisted by Hunter Cain, Penzvalto’s goal was a beacon of victory for the Lights Out.
Despite a late penalty on Shannon Pearson of Lights Out, the Cobras were unable to capitalize on the one-player advantage. The exhilarating game ended with the Lights Out victorious.
