It was an electrifying evening on August 26th, 2025 at the BHi Brantford 2, as the Trash Pandas squared off against the Brantford Convicts in Game 1 of the much-anticipated Best of 3 Championship. The Trash Pandas showcased their skill and tenacity, defeating the mighty Convicts in a thrilling encounter.
The game started with a bang as James Colwell, of the Trash Pandas, netted the puck in the second period, assisted by the dynamic duo of Jake Dawson and Isaac Colwell. But James Colwell wasn’t finished yet. He came back with another stunner only a few minutes later, this time with assistance from Tom Johnson and Jake Dawson.
The Brantford Convicts, not to be outdone, fought back in the third period. Keidon Giles, with a spectacular strike, put the Convicts on the board, thanks to assists from Zach Robb and Kris Hopper. However, the night belonged to the Trash Pandas who secured the win in this first match of the championship series.
A slight blemish for the Trash Pandas was the penalty awarded against Ryan St.Pierre in the second period, but they managed to maintain their lead despite being a player down for two minutes.
With 22 shots for the Trash Pandas and 18 for the Convicts, it was a closely contested game. But in the end, the Trash Pandas enjoyed the sweet taste of victory! We can’t wait to see what happens in Game 2 of this exciting Championship series.
