On the cool evening of August 19th, 2025, The Rocks and the Assassins clashed sticks and pucks in a thrilling opening game at BHi Brantford 2. The Rocks swooped in with a grand victory over the Assassins, marking the start of their quest for the championship.
The first period came alive when Assassins’ Brady Locke, unassisted, netted the first goal of the game. Quick to respond, The Rocks’ Austin McColl, assisted by Aaron Churchill and Evgeny Myshkin, levelled the score with a splendid shot.
As the second period rolled in, The Rocks took control. Anthony Delry started the scoring spree with a nifty shot, assisted by Kyle Vachon. Austin McColl then scored his second of the night, followed by an outstanding goal by Evgeny Myshkin. The Assassins’ Ilya Kramer, assisted by Reign Pratt, managed to sneak one past The Rocks’ goalie, ending the period at 4-2 in favour of The Rocks.
The final period saw The Rocks’ Evgeny Myshkin score his second goal, cementing their lead. Despite the penalties incurred by both teams, The Rocks kept their cool and secured the win.
Referees Dave Dean and Sean Gairns skillfully managed the game, while Timekeeper Connor Maclean kept a flawless account of the game time.
