Fans at BHi Brantford 2 were treated to a thrilling display of ball hockey on the evening of August 12, 2025, as the Gretzky Griffins faced off against the Shamrocks for the first game of a best of three series.
The game started off strong with the Shamrocks’ Don Pauze scoring the opening goal, assisted by Brandon McCready just 6 minutes 40 seconds into the first period. But the Griffins weren’t far behind. Aiden Litchfield, assisted by Nicholas White, leveled the score just a few minutes later.
The Shamrocks took the lead again by the end of the first period with a goal by Seth Verrips, assisted by Evgeny Myshkin and Brandon McCready.
However, the Griffins turned the game around in the second period with goals from Ethan Doucette and Nolan Chartrand, bringing the score to 3-2. The tide seemed to shift in the Griffins’ favor, with assists coming from Bradie Harrington and Aiden Litchfield.
The third period saw the Griffins extend their lead with two more goals from Bradie Harrington, both times assisted by Ethan Doucette. Despite a penalty against the Shamrocks’ Cody Summers late in the game, the Shamrocks couldn’t claw their way back, and the game ended with a 5-2 victory for the Gretzky Griffins.
