Coyotes Outshine Dickens Cider in a Thrilling Season Opener!

The ball hockey season kicked off on August 12, 2025, with a sensational game between the Coyotes and Dickens Cider at the BHi Brantford 2 venue. A rollercoaster of a match, it was the first in a best-of-three series and set an electric tone for what’s to come.

Early into the game, Dickens Cider’s Liam Hartman, assisted by Mathew Canessa and Ethan Soltis, managed to slip the first goal past the Coyotes’ defense only seven seconds into the first period. However, the Coyotes quickly retaliated, with Thorin Balaga scoring an equalizer seven minutes later, assisted by Nash Kramer.

During the second period, the Coyotes’ Jesse Hover, assisted by Brice Staats, managed to find the back of the net and put the Coyotes in the lead. The action didn’t stop there, as the third period saw another goal from the Coyotes, with Brice Staats taking the honor this time, assisted by Jesse Hover and Nash Kramer.

Despite the thrilling offensive display, the game had its fair share of penalties. Thorin Balaga of the Coyotes spent a notable 17 minutes in the penalty box, while Dickens Cider’s Russle Resit and Liam Hartman also spent time off the pitch.

However, by the sound of the final whistle, the Coyotes had secured a convincing victory in this first game of the best-of-three series. The Coyotes’ strong offensive play combined with diligent defense proved too much for Dickens Cider. The Coyotes’ 22 shots on goal, compared to Dickens Cider’s 16, showed their attacking intent.
