On the evening of August 8th, 2025, ball hockey fans were treated to an epic confrontation at BHi Brantford 1 where Team Stoke and Nips n’ Tips faced off. Despite a galvanized effort from Team Stoke, it was Nips n’ Tips who skated home with the victory, demonstrating skill and teamwork that was simply awe-inspiring.
The first period saw an immediate display of prowess from Nips n’ Tips. Shannon Pearson, who would prove instrumental throughout the game, scored the first goal within the first six minutes, with the help of Kyle Boutilier and Owen Doucette. Just over 4 minutes later, Jenn Boutilier sank another shot for Nips n’ Tips, assisted by Leyton Johnston and Owen Doucette once more.
As the game progressed into the second half, Nips n’ Tips widened the gap. Shannon Pearson, already having a great night, scored again, this time with assists from Brittany Fazekas and Leyton Johnston. Not to be left out, Brittany Fazekas scored her own goal later in the period, with Shannon Pearson and Leyton Johnston providing the assists.
Shannon Pearson sealed her hat trick with another goal in the second period giving Nips n’ Tips a commanding lead. However, Team Stoke showed their fighting spirit and finally broke through Nips n’ Tips defense with a goal from Kyle J, assisted by a Default Player.
Sadly, it wasn’t enough to turn the tides and the game ended with Nips n’ Tips the clear winners. The final shot count for the game reflected the aggressive gameplay with 26 shots from Nips n’ Tips compared to 21 from Team Stoke.
The match was a wonderful display of sport, with both teams giving their all. Despite the loss, Team Stoke showed great potential and will surely come back stronger in their next game. For Nips n’ Tips, Shannon Pearson certainly stood out as a key player. Her hat trick will be remembered for some time and we look forward to seeing what she does next time.
