The ball hockey battle that took place on August 3, 2025, proved to be a thrilling contest as BDB 30+ took on Just the Tip (Men’s 30) at BHi Brantford 2. From the first blast of the whistle, both teams took to the rink with impressive determination, exhibiting their slick stick moves and unyielding defense.
The first period saw a flurry of goals from both sides. Shannon Pearson from BDB 30+ kicked off the scoring, assisted by Don Pauze and Jacob Woods. Christopher Rowe of Just the Tip answered back with a goal of his own, supported by Jon Gerrard. However, BDB 30+ stayed ahead with Don Pauze and Brock Staley adding to the scoreboard, rounding out the first period with a comfortable lead.
The second period was an exciting display of ball hockey prowess, with BDB 30+ dominating the rink. Brock Staley proved to be unstoppable, netting two goals in this period. Despite this, Just the Tip still showed their fighting spirit, with goals from Austin Hill and Jeremiah Gerrard.
In the third period, BDB 30+ continued their scoring spree. Shannon Pearson was impeccable, scoring no fewer than five goals, each assisted by the dynamic duo of Brock Staley and Don Pauze. Just the Tip tried to fight back with Christopher Rowe and Jon Gerrard adding to their tally, but it wasn’t enough to overcome BDB 30+’s strong performance.
The final whistle blew, marking a thrilling victory for BDB 30+, who took home the win in style. The spectators were treated to a fantastic game full of energy, skill, and sportsmanship. This game surely will be remembered for the remarkable performance by both teams.
