The energy was electric at the Woodman Park Community Centre on December 28, 2025, as the Brantford Royals – Black faced off against Maximum Effort in an exciting ball hockey game.
The first period was dominated by the Royals, scoring a rapid-fire series of goals with incredible ease. Heather Barkman opened the scoring at 14 minutes, 32 seconds, followed by Tristan Barkman just 49 seconds later. The Barkmans’ sibling synergy was palpable on the rink. The Royals’ Noah Vicano and Tristan Barkman added two more goals at the 6-minute mark, with Tristan Barkman netting another one before the period ended, giving the Royals an overwhelming lead.
However, Maximum Effort came out swinging in the second half. Dalton Vander Heide was first to put Maximum Effort on the board with a goal at 14 minutes, 24 seconds into the period. Following suit, Ryan Allard, Skyler Cooper, and Dylan Padyk-Wilson all scored, closing the gap between the two teams.
But the Royals were not ready to give up their lead. Noah Vicano scored his second goal of the game, and Kherington Gifford added another to the count. Despite a valiant last-minute goal by Ryan Allard of Maximum Effort, the Royals ultimately claimed the victory.
The game ended with a well-deserved win for the Brantford Royals – Black, demonstrating their unstoppable offense and relentless efforts. With their quick puck handling and strategic shots, the Royals are a team to watch out for in future games. Meanwhile, Maximum Effort’s comeback in the second period proves they are a tenacious team with great potential.
