On a crisp Wednesday evening, September 24, 2025; the BHi Brantford 1 venue was buzzing with excitement as The Thundercocks faced off against The Gamblers in a thrilling ball hockey match. From the starting whistle, both teams displayed tremendous skill and effort, but it was The Gamblers who emerged victorious.
The first period saw Sylvain Moreau of The Thundercocks get the ball rolling with an assisted goal by Mike Balog and Trevor Martin. But The Gamblers weren’t far behind as Marshall Powless leveled the score with a goal coming in just before the end of the period.
The second period was a true spectacle. Marshall Powless of The Gamblers secured his second goal of the game. The Thundercocks responded with vigor, with James Mclean and Sylvain Moreau each scoring a goal. However, The Gamblers had more tricks up their sleeves. Kalem Powless and Jordan Sandy finished the period strong, both scoring a goal and bringing the score to 4-3 in favor of The Gamblers.
The third and final period saw both teams continue their offensive onslaught. Marshall Powless from The Gamblers scored his third goal of the game, achieving an impressive hat trick. The Thundercocks’ Rob Hopf didn’t let this go unanswered and scored a goal with an assist from Sylvain Moreau.
Despite valiant efforts from The Thundercocks, The Gamblers were the champions of the night, securing their victory with a 5-4 win. Spectators were treated to a truly thrilling game of ball hockey that will be remembered for the incredible skill and tenacity displayed by both teams.
