Full of excitement and energy, the ball hockey game on January 11, 2026, between the Gators and the Lions was one to remember! Hosted at Woodman Park Community Centre, the fans were on the edge of their seats throughout the match.
The Lions roared right out of the gate, with Hunter Laurie scoring the first goal just 11 minutes into the game. But the Gators weren’t backing down – they responded quickly with Rylan Mather-Roulston evening the score. However, the Lions took control of the first period, with Brayson Longboat, Ella Jackson, and Hunter Laurie again scoring one goal each.
The second period brought more action. The Lions continued their dominance with Reid Cole, Iris Dean, and again Reid Cole himself delivering three goals in quick succession. Nonetheless, the Gators showed their resilience, with Logan Barkman and Lana Barkman scoring a goal each, followed by another goal from Logan Barkman, showing his mettle once more.
It was a heated game, with the Gators’ Damien (Mason) Henry receiving a 2-minute penalty for tripping, further intensifying the match. The Gators put up a strong fight, but the Lions proved to be too strong, emerging as the winners of this thrilling bout.
Congratulations to the Lions on their well-earned victory, and kudos to the Gators for their tenacity and spirit. With such talent on the field, we look forward to more exciting games in the future!
