On a crisp October evening, the 17th to be exact, fans were treated to a ball hockey spectacle at BHi Brantford 2. The Trash Pandas faced the Brantford Royals – Boyd and what a game it was, going into overtime in an electrifying show of skill and strategy.
From the get-go, the pace was fast, adrenaline-filled and it was clear no team was backing down. The Trash Pandas scored the first goal of the game, a clever shot by Will VanNieuwenhuizen, assisted by Raine Hernden. However, the Royals quickly retaliated with Tristan Barkman finding the back of the net, assisted by Becca King and Max Bennett.
The first period ended with the Royals scoring two more goals, by Ashlee Allen and Becca King. The Trash Pandas, not deterred, bounced back in the second period with scorching goals by Kyle Boutilier and Raine Hernden, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
The third period was a nail-biter, as both teams were trading blows. Max Bennett of the Royals scored first, Becca King and Tristan Barkman assisting. But Kyle Boutilier from the Trash Pandas would not let that slide, firing back with an unassisted goal.
With the regular time ending on a tie, overtime was inevitable. Raine Hernden, assisted by Kyle Boutilier and Brittany Fazekas, scored the game-winning goal, securing an unforgettable win for the Trash Pandas.
