On a cool evening of October 1, 2025, a thrilling game of ball hockey unfolded at BHi Brantford 1. The Smoke and the Assassins gave the spectators an adrenaline-filled spectacle that ended with The Smoke emerging victorious.
The Smoke set their pace early with the first goal just in the second minute of the first period, courtesy of Darren Slimming, assisted by Jacob Deane and Greg Prangley. They continued their dominance in the second period with Ryan Crabb firing a shot into the net at the fifth minute, thanks to Joe Scharbach and Jacob Deane. Ethan Hooker also made his mark on the scoreboard later in the second period, assisted by Nash Murphy.
Despite being caught in The Smoke’s whirlwind, the Assassins weren’t without their moments. Chuckie Johnson, assisted by Ryan Brown, managed to score a goal for the Assassins three minutes into the third period. However, The Smoke returned the favor with Chase Plaus, assisted by Greg Prangley and Kevin Murphy, making the final score of the evening.
Chances came abundantly for The Smoke as they took 19 shots at the goal compared to the Assassins’ 10. The Smoke’s strong offense and impenetrable defense lead them to this victory. The referees Jaymz Easton and Jacob Gerrard, along with TimeKeeper Connor Maclean, ensured a smooth and fair game.
The Smoke showed their prowess and set the bar high for the rest of the season. It was definitely a night to remember for their fans. The Assassins, on the other hand, will be looking for redemption in their next games. Stay tuned for more exciting ball hockey action!
