On the brisk evening of October 15, 2025, the Shamrocks and The Thundercocks met at BHi Brantford 1 for a riveting game of youth ball hockey that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Despite a valiant effort from The Thundercocks, the Shamrocks skated their way to a commanding 9-4 victory.
The Shamrocks came out strong in the first period with Austin Scott striking first, nicely assisted by Donovan Montforte. Brandon Jacusiw followed up with two consecutive goals, both assisted by Brandon McCready. The Thundercocks responded with a single goal by Mike LeBar, assisted by Ryan Brown. However, the Shamrocks took control of the game again with Chris Scott scoring two back-to-back goals, effectively ending the first period with a 5-1 lead.
The second period saw the Shamrocks continue their dominance with Chris Scott again, Seth Verrips, Austin Scott, and Brandon McCready all finding the back of the net. The Thundercocks, however, were not able to respond in kind this period.
The third period began with Aaron Hart and James Mclean scoring for The Thundercocks, bringing some life back to the team. Mclean managed to net another one later, assisted by Jaxson Leween. Despite their best efforts, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Shamrocks’ commanding lead.
The game was not without its share of penalties with Jaxson Leween and Aaron Hart of The Thundercocks and Mark Butler of the Shamrocks each spending two minutes in the box for their respective infringements.
The Shamrocks were the stars of the night, demonstrating great team play and tenacity. This thrilling game showcased the talent and sportsmanship of both teams, and the Shamrocks’ victory leaves them poised for continued success in the season. Well done to all players!
