Dynamic Dragons Dominate Flamingos for the Victory

On a thrilling evening of November 4, 2025, the dynamic Dragons faced off against the fierce Flamingos at BHi Brantford 2 ball hockey venue in a spectacular display of youth sportsmanship and athleticism. The game was part of a round robin between the second and third places, where both teams had the chance to enjoy a celebratory pizza party afterwards.

The Dragons emerged victorious, thanks largely to the exceptional efforts of Hunter Laurie and Elijah Mathura. The first period was marked by intense action, with Laurie securing the first goal for the Dragons, assisted by Mathura. Less than two minutes later, Mathura returned the favour, scoring the second goal for the Dragons with an assist from Laurie. The dynamic duo struck again, adding a third goal before the end of the first period.

However, the Flamingos showed their tenacity as Mason Plante, assisted by Harrison Cole, fired a goal past the Dragons’ defense, reducing the score difference. The first period ended with a note of intense anticipation for the following rounds.

The second period kicked off with another goal by the unstoppable Laurie, this time assisted by Weston Gifford-Deane and Mathura. Mathura then netted another one for the Dragons with Laurie assisting, securing a commanding lead.

A minor setback occurred when Brendan Patla of the Dragons had to serve a two-minute penalty for tripping. Yet, this didn’t dampen the Dragons’ performance. Mathura sealed the second period with another goal, making the scoreline even more challenging for the Flamingos.

The final period saw Mason Plante of the Flamingos adding another goal, assisted by Grayson Park. However, Mathura, the Dragons’ dynamic goal scorer, responded with a solo effort, sealing the Dragons’ final victory.

The match was not just another round robin game. It was a spectacle of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship from both sides. The Dragons and Flamingos have shown their incredible potential in youth ball hockey and promise more exciting games in the future.
