On a cool night of September 17, 2025, the BHi Brantford 1 venue was buzzing with excitement as The Brand faced off against NFG in a nail-biting game of youth ball hockey. The match ended with The Brand claiming victory in a thrilling contest.
The game swung back and forth with both teams giving their best to steal the show. The action was as fierce as the competition, with a flurry of chances created at either end of the rink. The Brand fired off an impressive 19 shots while NFG responded with 13 of their own.
Ty Birdsell of The Brand emerged as the star of the night. His goal in the second period, assisted by Erik DeVuyst, proved decisive in clinching the game. Birdsell’s heroics did not end there. He was also involved in some nail-biting action, earning a two-minute penalty for slashing in the first period.
NFG showed great spirit, but unfortunately, they found themselves on the wrong side of the referee’s whistle. Players Joe King, Kathos Whitlow, Matt Whitlow, Landon Whitlow, and Cole Dezainde each served time for various offences. Despite the penalties, they never gave up and kept the pressure on The Brand until the final whistle.
It was an exciting night of youth ball hockey, full of twists and turns. Both teams displayed great skill, determination, and sportsmanship, making it a memorable game for all involved. We cannot wait to see what the next game has in store for us!
