On the afternoon of November 2nd, 2025 the BHi Brantford 2 arena was abuzz with enthusiasm as the Brantford Royals – Ladies faced off against the Dominating Divas in a thrilling ball hockey showdown. The game was a part of the Round Robin series, a clash between the 2nd and 3rd teams in the league.
The game started off with a bang as Becca King of the Brantford Royals scored an even-strength goal within the first seven minutes. The Divas quickly responded when Rylee Dale, assisted by Melanie Woods and Lisa Dubruck, slipped one past the Royals’ netminder, evening up the score.
However, the Royals didn’t let this slow them down. Becca King, Lana Barkman, and Kaitlyn Barkman kept their momentum going by scoring three more times in the second period. The last goal of the period was scored by Ashlee Allen, assisted by Kaitlyn Barkman and Amy Coates, bringing the total score to 5-1 in favor of the Royals.
The third period saw a shimmer of hope for the Divas as they managed to score an unassisted goal, but the Royals continued their scoring spree. Kaitlyn Barkman and Amy Coates each netted a goal, and Lana Barkman, assisted by Heather Barkman, sealed the deal with a goal in the final seconds of the game.
With a final score of 8-2, the Brantford Royals displayed their dominating performance on the rink. The game was full of energy, skill, and sportsmanship that surely left an unforgettable memory for all the players and spectators. We look forward to their next face-off in the league!
