On a chilly October evening on the 29th, 2025, the Panthers and Hornets faced off in a thrilling youth ball hockey game at BHi Brantford 2. The air was filled with cheers and the thrill of competition.
From the start, the Panthers showed their strength and agility. The first period was a goal extravaganza for the Panthers with Evan Newell, Lana Barkman, Logan Barkman, Hrishita Balothia, Ethan Mackenzie, Danny Gamble, and Lana Barkman again each scoring a goal. The Hornets, while putting up a strong defense, could not keep the Panthers from scoring.
The second period was equally exciting, with Logan Barkman, Carter Lesemann, and Lana Barkman each scoring another goal for the Panthers. The Hornets, however, found their footing with Jaxon Bennett scoring a goal assisted by Lincoln Aitchison to put their name on the scorecard.
The final period saw Evan Newell, Carter Lesemann, and Logan Barkman adding to the Panthers’ tally, while the Hornets’ Jaxon Bennett and Lincoln Aitchison each scored a goal.
While the Hornets showed resilience, it was the Panthers’ day as they won the game with a significant margin. The Panthers showed great teamwork, with Logan Barkman assisting in several goals and earning several points for his team.
Fair play was also on display with only three minor penalties throughout the game, two against the Panthers’ Cavin MacKenzie for tripping and cross-checking, and one against the Hornets’ Cooper Hounsell for high sticking.
The Panthers’ victory was a true team effort, with multiple players scoring goals. The fans had much to cheer about, and this game is sure to be remembered for its exciting gameplay, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Well done to both teams!
