Overtime Thriller: Yetis Triumph Over Just the Tip in Nail-Biting Finish

On the chilly night of October 20, 2025, the Yetis and Just the Tip faced off in a gripping ball hockey match at BHi Brantford 1. The night was filled with adrenaline and excitement, and the game, originally scheduled for September 28, was worth the wait.

The Yetis came out of the gates strong, with Geoff Kitchen scoring two unassisted goals in the first 8 minutes of the game. But Just the Tip wasn’t ready to back down just yet – their resilient fighter, Jacob Gerrard, got them on the board and the first period ended with the Yetis leading 3-1.

In the second period, Just the Tip mounted a comeback. Jacob Gerrard scored another goal, and Ben Filer found the back of the net as well. By the end of the period, Just the Tip had leveled the score to 3-3.

The third period was a true nail-biter. Both teams battled back and forth, each scoring two more goals. At the end of regulation, the score was tied at 5-5, sending the game into overtime.

In the overtime period, Hero of the match, Dwayne MacDougall of the Yetis, assisted by Geoff Kitchen and Nik Tesone, managed to score the game-winning goal in the fifth minute, ending the game at an exciting 6-5 victory for the Yetis.

The Yetis put up a total of 22 shots on goal, while Just the Tip countered with 23. The game was officiated by referees Dave Dean and Owen Doucette, with Max Dean as the timekeeper.

Kudos to all players, especially the stars of the match, Geoff Kitchen from the Yetis who had a hand in 5 of the 6 goals and Jacob Gerrard from Just the Tip with his hat-trick. A valiant effort from both sides indeed! We look forward to more such thrilling games in the future.
