On a beautiful day, October 18, 2025, at BHi Brantford 2, the Empire and Knights put on an unforgettable display of youth ball hockey, with the Empire emerging as clear victors.
The tense match saw the Empire pulling ahead in the first period, with Cameron Blagdon, Aiden Sioen and Andre Greene each netting an ‘Even Strength’ goal, setting the pitch ablaze with their relentless energy. The Knights, in contrast, struggled to find their feet, despite a valiant effort to defend their goal.
The second period witnessed a continued offensive surge from the Empire. Phoenix Pemberton, Andre Greene and Johnathan Jantzi each made their mark, adding further to the Empire’s tally. The Knights, though, finally broke through with Ayaan Syed scoring an ‘Even Strength’ goal, aided by Ava Denzau.
The Empire’s dominance continued into the third period, with Andre Greene once again demonstrating his scoring prowess, thereby sealing the team’s victory. The game wasn’t without its fair share of penalties, with both teams occasionally falling foul of the rules. However, it was the Empire’s day, and they took full advantage, riding home on the back of a truly dominant performance.
In the end, the Empire proved too strong for the Knights, demonstrated not only by the goal tally but also by the 14-12 shot advantage. The match was a true testament to the skills and dedication of these young athletes. We look forward to the next exciting installation of their rivalry.
