On a vibrant Saturday morning at the BHi Brantford 1 arena, the Dragons proved too hot to handle for the Flamingos in an exciting display of youth ball hockey. The Dragons, led by the superb Hunter Laurie, roared to a dominant victory over the Flamingos on October 18, 2025, leaving the spectators thrilled and longing for more.
Right from the first whistle, it was the Dragons who set the tone of the game. The unstoppable Hunter Laurie netted the opening goal just 15 seconds into the first period. Not satisfied with just one goal, Laurie went on to score twice more within the span of the first period, achieving an impressive hat-trick.
The Flamingos, showing their spirit, responded in the second period with a strike from Harrison Cole. However, the Dragons were quick to retaliate, with Weston Gifford-Deane finding the back of the net assisted by Laurie. Seeming to enjoy the scoring spree, Gifford-Deane added another goal to his tally, this time helped by Elijah Mathura. Mathura then wrapped up the scoring for the day, netting another goal for the Dragons with an assist from Gifford-Deane.
Despite the Flamingos’ best efforts and 15 shots on goal, the Dragons’ defense stood firm, making the final scoreline in favour of the Dragons. With such an exhilarating game, fans are eagerly anticipating the next matchup between the two sides. Stay tuned for more exciting youth ball hockey action!
