October 17, 2025 turned out to be a fantastic night for ball hockey fans as Mighty T’weas and Willow Lake squared off in an enthralling match at BHi Brantford 1. In the end, the Mighty T’weas ended up victorious!
The game commenced with an exciting first period. Willow Lake’s Herb McEachern, assisted by Marty F? and Damen McEachern, surprised the crowd with the first goal just 8 minutes and 10 seconds into the game. Damen McEachern then scored an unassisted goal, leaving Willow Lake fans in high spirits.
However, the Mighty T’weas didn’t let this early lead dampen their spirits. They came roaring back in the second period with Scott Riley scoring a goal assisted by Joe Baglio. Despite this, Willow Lake kept the pressure on with two consecutive goals by Marty F?, both assisted by Damen McEachern.
But the Mighty T’weas weren’t finished. They retaliated with three successive goals from Jeremy Hunchak, Scott Riley, and Jeremy Hunchak again, with notable assists from Tim Porter and Scott Riley. The final goal of the second period by Jeremy Hunchak, assisted by both Tim Porter and Scott Riley, turned the tide of the game.
The third period was a nail-biter, with Willow Lake trying hard to reclaim their lead. But it was the Mighty T’weas who sealed the deal with a final goal by Tim Porter, assisted by Jeremy Hunchak.
There were numerous penalties during the game, which saw both teams down players at various points. However, despite a 10-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct by Mighty T’weas’ Sam Gowland and Scott Riley, the team managed to hold their ground.
