On a remarkable afternoon on October 11th, 2025, the Empire battled ferociously against the 12 to 14 Dragons at the BHi Brantford 1. The game was a nail-biter that had to be decided in overtime, with Empire snatching victory from the jaws of the Dragons.
The game kicked off with a mesmerizing display of skill and team chemistry. Elijah Khimji of the Dragons scored the first goal of the game in the second period, with an assist from Noah Khimji. However, the Empire struck back with two quick goals, thanks to Johnathan Jantzi and Aiden Sioen, turning the tide of the game. Cameron Blagdon provided the assist on Jantzi’s goal, proving to be a key player in the Empire’s offense.
As the third period began, Brodie Willgren scored an equalizing goal for the Dragons, bringing the score level and sending the game into the nail-biting overtime. Despite the Dragon’s strong defensive efforts, it was Aiden Sioen from the Empire who managed to sneak in the winning goal, his second of the day, in overtime. Johnathan Jantzi provided the assist, marking his second contribution to the scoreboard as well.
The game wasn’t without its penalties, either! Noah Parry from the Dragons had a two-minute penalty in the third period for body contact, adding to the tense atmosphere of the match.
