On the night of October 3, 2025, the BHi Brantford 1 arena was buzzing with excitement as the Nips n’ Tips clashed with the Brantford Royals – Pyear in an exhilarating contest of ball hockey. The match was an incredible display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship as both teams fought fiercely till the very end.
The star of the night was undoubtedly Shannon Pearson of the Nips n’ Tips, who managed to score an impressive five goals! Pearson sent the first puck flying into the net just 6 minutes and 30 seconds into the first period, assisted by teammate Kyle Boutilier. Not even a minute later, Pearson was back with another goal, this time with an assist from Andrew Maclean. The first period ended on a high note with John Pongracz of the Nips n’ Tips adding another goal to the tally.
As the second period commenced, Pearson continued his goal-scoring spree. With 4 minutes and 13 seconds into the period, Pearson scored his third goal, once again assisted by the reliable Boutilier and supported by Brittany Fazekas. The Brantford Royals made a comeback with Preston VanEvery’s goal, but Pearson quickly responded with another goal.
The third period saw Pearson score his fifth and final goal of the game, assisted by Jenn Boutilier and Kyle Boutilier. The Brantford Royals didn’t go down without a fight, though. Phinn Sinden and Preston VanEvery of the Royals managed to sneak two goals past the Nips n’ Tips’ defense.
Despite the Royals’ late surge, the Nips n’ Tips held their ground, securing a thrilling victory. The final whistle marked the end of an exciting night of ball hockey. The crowd roared in applause, celebrating the remarkable performance of both teams.
