In a thrilling youth ball hockey match held on September 25, 2025, the Empire squad displayed a masterclass in ball control and teamwork, outscoring the 12 to 14 Dragons in an unforgettable showdown at BHi Brantford 1.
The Empire team started the second period with a bang, courtesy of Aiden Sioen’s superb even-strength goal, assisted by Keighan Gifford. This was quickly followed by two more goals – one a solo effort by Johnathan Jantzi and the other by Ayaan Syed, with Hridhaan Balothia setting it up.
Johnathan Jantzi raised the bar even further in the third period, scoring twice more for Empire with Andre Greene and Emerson Stewart providing the assists. Not to be left out of the goal-scoring party, Emerson Stewart netted one himself, with Jantzi returning the favor with an assist. Ayaan Syed, with another assist from Hridhaan Balothia, scored his second goal of the match, sealing the victory for the Empire team.
The 12 to 14 Dragons fought valiantly, launching 22 shots towards the Empire’s net, but the day belonged to Empire with their accurate shooting, resulting in 7 goals from 12 attempts.
Kudos to our referees, Jeremiah Gerrard and Sean Gairns, as well as timekeeper Olivia Gairns, for their excellent management of the match.
