On August 29, 2025, the Cherry Blasters faced off against Team Stoke in an exhilarating game of ball hockey at BHi Brantford 1. The game was a part of the exciting semi-final series, and it did not disappoint!
The Cherry Blasters came out on top thanks to the fantastic performance of Judy Hycza who scored the decisive goal in the first period, assisted by teammates Markus Mathurin and Nathan Gilchrist. The goal was a result of an even strength play, showing the impressive teamwork of the Cherry Blasters. They managed to make this goal despite Team Stoke’s tenacious defense, which was evident by their 10 shots on goal.
However, the game wasn’t without its share of drama. Judy Hycza, the goal scorer for the Cherry Blasters, was penalized for a hooking in the second period. Ryan Ashurst from Cherry Blasters also faced a penalty for elbowing in the third period. On the other hand, Team Stoke’s Becca King was caught for body checking in the third period which shifted the game dynamic.
The game ended in favor of the Cherry Blasters, who had a total of 21 shots on goal. It was an exciting match, with the spectators on the edge of their seats throughout. In spite of their loss, Team Stoke showed great sportsmanship and team spirit, promising a more intense match-up in the future.
